about

Inspired, once again, by a Baha'i quote: "As you have faith, so shall your powers and blessings be." I drew a lot of perseverance from that idea especially when I was facing some unprecedented challenges in Vanuatu, straight out of school, trying to be a teacher, learning about community life and communication in general... As the song revealed itself, though, it really became more significant to the following of one's Path, whatever that may be...

lyrics

Maybe you’re right. Coz maybe it ain’t so bright
To try something that’s often failed before
But maybe you’re wrong. Coz maybe I am strong.-er
Than any who’ve tried before but maybe
that’s not the point. Just maybe the point is faith
Well hey hey –

I’ve got faith. I’ve got faith
Yes, I’ve got faith. And as you have faith…

I listened when you said: Get a side-job, get a real job
Be sure to win your bread.
I was attentive as you told me: Be cautious, be wise
Save some for plan B - But Plan B's not for me, coz -

I've got faith. I've got faith
yeah, I've got faith. And as you have faith...

And maybe it’s hard living sometimes
But I prefer it that way to half way
Guess I just wasn’t cut for living half way
Maybe you are
the same?

Now maybe you are right
Yes the sun is looking bright-er
Than before - We’ll try Something that’s
Often failed before. We’re strong
But above all

We’ve got faith. We've got faith.
Yeah, we've got faith and as you have faith

...So shall your powers and blessings
be.

about

Delia Olam SA, Australia

This was my first album and it's damn good. Before recording it with a mighty fine jazz band there were years of solo gigging, collaborations with electronika, house and dub djs, writing children's music, singing lead in an all-girl grunge-punk band, taking the bass line in 4 part acapella harmonies, making medieval music at school and singing along to Kate Bush and David Bowie vinyls in the dark ... more
